The BEGINNING
The history of Muleclan is a very long and complicated one. The clan originated from the old cattle farm to the south of their territory. The cattle farm was a wonderful place to live at first, cats thrived. It was the middle of Greenleaf the days had been hot and every living being longed for the sky to open up to allow rain to fall down. On the hottest night of the season their wishes were granted. The storm rolled in quickly, the wind banged on the walls of the old barn and lighting crashed towards the fields. High up in the rafters of the barn buried away in some hay a lone she-cat gave birth to three tiny kits on which she named Timber, Rooster, and Mule. The three brothers grew up on the farm enjoying the life of an easy barn cat life, but all good things eventually come to an end.
It wasn’t noticeable at first, a cat or two would go missing in the night. Soon over half of the cats were gone. But it was about to get worse. The two-legs brought a new creature to the farm; dog. Two fierce cattle dogs began to terrorize the cats during the day causing them to hide all day and tentatively venturing out at night just long enough to find food and water. One night the farmer’s dogs weren’t put up before the cats went out to hunt. One of the dogs viciously attacked and killed the three brother’s mother; this was the last straw for the boys. Under the cover of the night Timber, Rooster, and Mule lead a small group of the cats away from the farm. They traveled northeast in hopes of a better life.
When they came to their new home all seemed at peace. Everyone could hunt and live freely without the feeling of terror that shadowed their hearts. But greed began to creep into the clan and the cats fought among themselves each one constantly trying to take the position for him or her self. In the end it came down to the three brothers deciding who the first leader of the clan would be.
The ancestors of the cats decided to test the three brothers on their strength, speed, and wit to see who would make the best leader. Mule used his wit against his brothers to win every test even though they were stronger and faster. The ancestors knew Mule cheated but had no other choice then to make him leader. But, because they knew Mule didn't compete fairly they decided that he wouldn't get the 9 lives every leader gets and that he would have to make one of his brothers deputy.
The ancestors decided that the position of leader should be passed down from generation to generation switching out between the three main bloodlines in this order; Mule, Timber, Rooster. They decided then first male born of each bloodline would become the clan's next leader.
